I’m so proud to live in this little corner of the world. We have beautiful mountains, deep valleys, fantastic scenery every where we turn. And I’m so proud of Hjørundfjorden, which in my opinion is the most beautiful fjord in the world!
We had a few sunny days this summer and one of them was spent on a beach at Sæbø, in the heart of Hjørundfjorden.
The people of Sæbø take such good care of their community.
Every where you turn there’s something beutiful to rest your eyes upon. It’s as if time stands still. The peace and quiet fills you when you walk through the main street. Small craft shops, a bakery, smiling grocers, friendly residents and amazed tourists surrounds you.
And as you get closer to the beach, Kapteinskvia, the charming boathouses lies as beads on a string along the shoreline:
R U S T I C
C H A R M I N G
C O L O R F U L
O L D
The scenery is just so fantastic, so full of contrasts. Adventurous hikers and backpackers praise the mountains – no wonder…
The old boathouse and the fishing nets in sharp contrast to the modern and heavy machinery. Still beautiful, still something special and unique.
Some of the houses are old and worn. It just adds to their soul and their presence. They welcome us as silent witnesses, telling tales of times long gone. And some of the houses are old, but neat and refurbished, telling tales of times to come.
In Hjørundfjorden the past, present and future walks hand in hand. A place to visit, a place to enjoy, a place to slow down and let time fly.
Welcome to beautiful
Hjørundfjorden!
I’m so proud to say it’s in my neighbourhood!
PS! It’s raining cats and dogs today. I just had to publish these beutiful summer photos! If you want to check out Hjørundfjorden on a map, click here.
